Basically, the Desert drills Museum''s Comco Micro Blaster (see supplier''s address elsewhere) is a precision sandblasting unit bosch that emits abrasive particles at about 1,000 feet per second. Like an air scribe, it operates with compressed cordless air (needing a 90 psi compressor or bottled air), an enclosed work chamber, and a dust collector to drills keep the lab free of air contaminants. Having dry air available is extremely important for any miniature sandblasting tool because damp grits tend to cake and clog the unit''s tiny jets. In-line air desiccant filters are a necessity, even in normally very dry Arizona.
